Ph.D. projects:

Candidates for PhD are invited to apply to join our research group. We seek highly motivated and ambitious students to work on the challenging topic of structural and functional characterization of membrane proteins. Candidates will have the opportunity to lear a variety of techniques ranging from molecular biology, gene expression in bacterial cell cultures, protein purification, functional reconstitution of membrane proteins in artificial membrane systems for the analysis of transport mechanisms, biophysical and spectroscopic characterization of proteins, crystallization using robotics and protein structure determination. 

Previous experience in protein biochemistry and electrophysiology is an advantage, but not a pre-requisite.
